FAQs, Clarifications, Exceptions and Competition  modifications unique to PCA event

The following items will be operational for the 2027 PCA Collegiate event.

Note: Teams that will be competing in other events/formats are to verify with those EPs, as to what their event specifics will be.

Routine Lengths

1. Game Day: 3:00

2. Performance Cheer/Pom: 2:00   (see below)

3. All Cheer Divisions: Cheer Portion: Minimum of 30 seconds  •  Interval between Cheer end and music start: 30 seconds  •

There is no maximum time for the Cheer portion at PCA  but CC rules limit is 60 seconds (be aware of this if attending ather events)

The CHEER is only performed in the First Round

Maximum Music length 2:00 (there is NO penalty for being under time with music)

TUMBLING

1. Up to 1 flipping and 2 twisting rotations. Double full twisting tumbling elements are permitted. No twisting, out of a double twisting skill

PCA believes that Collegiate Premier Division teams should be allowed the widest range of skills allowable - equal to Level 7 (all-star)

2. FAQ. Can you perform a standing tuck while holding Poms? YES   . Can the flyer in a basket toss hold Poms: YES ()

3. Dive Rolls are permitted provided that they are not performed in the 'swan'/arched position.

ELIGIBILITY

All members of the team competing on mat must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 courses  at the school they are competing for  in the term of the competition

The course 'weight' (1/2 yr or full year) or credit value is not a factor. On-line courses are equal to 'in-person' classes. Graduate school MA and PHd students are eligible

Exchange students are eligible IF granted so by the school with documentation  as per U-Sport definition.

The intent is to have the competition routine time lengths (for all applicable divisions), be the same as the Collegiate time frames used by Cheer Canada (see page 5 of the 2025-26 Scholastic Rules & Regulations). Due to web publishing time lags, sometimes,  information may not be congruent. If in doubt about anything, please call or email PCA for clarification.
