FAQs, Clarifications, Exceptions and Competition  modifications unique to PCA event

The following items will be operational for the 2026 PCA Collegiate event.

Note: Teams that will be competing in other events/formats are to verify with those EPs, as to what their event specifics will be. 

Routine Lengths

1. Game Day: 3:00

2. Performance Cheer/Pom: 2:00

3. All Cheer Divisions: Cheer Portion: Minimum of 30 seconds  •  Interval between Cheer end and music start: 30 seconds  •  

Maximum Music length 2:30 (there is NO penalty for being under time with music)

4. Partner Stunt Competition: 1 minute. (Music background is encouraged but is NOT scored/judged or evaluated re 'choreography')

TUMBLING

Up to 1 flipping and 2 twisting rotations. Double full twisting tumbling elements are permitted. No twisting, out of a double twisting skill

  PCA believes that Collegiate Premier Division teams should be allowed the widest range of skills allowable - equal to Level 7 (all-star)

ELIGIBILITY

All members of the team competing on mat must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 courses  at the school they are competing for  in the term of the competition

 The course 'weight' (1/2 yr or full year) or credit value is not a factor. On-line courses are equal to 'in-person' classes. Graduate and PHd students are eligible

 Exchange students are eligible IF granted so by the school with documentation  as per U-Sport definition.
